Hollywood yoga studio seeking angel for start-up funding.
Personally, it is my calling to establish Swami O'Bryan's. I intend it to be a dynamic studio that can be an omnidirectional wow in an omnidirectional now! Aiming to advantage humanity one breath at a time, Swami O'Bryan's intends to be the heart within the heart of a transformed and progressive Hollywood. This can be done by offering yoga classes, private yoga lessons, healing sessions, bodywork, speaking and music events and other effective techniques, technology and know-how to help humanity work for everyone.
The numbers....as of 2008
7.5% of U.S. adults, or 16.5 million people, now practice yoga, an increase of 5.6% from the prior year and 43% from 2002. Of the 16.5 million people now practicing yoga, the fastest growing segment is the 18-24 age group, which increased by a remarkable 46% in one year.
In addition, almost one in seven non-practitioners, or about 25 million people, say they intend to try yoga within the next 12 months.
In 2006, Americans spent almost $3 billion on yoga classes and retreats, books, DVD's, mats, clothing and related items. About 3 million American adults practice yoga at least twice a week in 2006, more than doubling from 1.3 million in 2001, according to Mediamark Research.
That the number of yoga practitioners has grown so strongly in the last ten years shows that yoga is not a passing fad but a genuine cultural phenomenon and an integral part of the wellness trend in this country.
